About 3Bi

An evidence base rooted in Sudan, built for Sudanese futures.

Independent, non-partisan, and rooted in Sudan’s social movements

3Bi is an independent, non-partisan think-tank — not a youth movement, not a donor project, but a research institution nested within Sudan's social movements nexus.

Our positioning is deliberately decolonial: research questions, methods, and framing originate from Sudanese and African perspectives rather than external policy agendas. We draw institutional grounding from the Emergency Response Rooms and Resistance Committees that sustained communities through conflict, and from nafeer — the tradition of collective mutual aid — as our operating model, not merely our inspiration.

Founded in 2019

3Bi works across conflict, climate, governance, and humanitarian-development policy, producing evidence intended to be used — by communities negotiating their own recovery, and by the institutions that claim to serve them.
